If you have to give a child a funny name, make sure give them a couple of normal ones as well.
Then they can choose whether to be known as, e.g., Moonunit or Sue.

It’s difficult to be non judgemental considering this child’s given name. As parents they must be somewhere down the intellectual food chain to fail to realise how their indulgence will affect this girl.
Why couldn’t they be more imaginative such as having a son and daughter and calling him Alph. and her Bet.

By any standards, Abcde is a weird and, yes, amusing name.

He openly laughed at the name in front of the kid. A joke has a setup and a punchline. laughing at something is mocking. I wouldn't have found it funny, I would have felt for the kid for having such an unbelievably shit mother. Giving kids stupid names is down to the narcissism of the parents.

The airline did nothing when she complained and when the media got involved have declined to say what action they took against the staff member.
Not sure it’s a straight sacking offence but you’d be on a final warning
